How do I know if my product, process or framework has advanced an element of knowledge within my industry?
Government guidelines stipulate that your invention must be new in the sense that it has not been made publicly available anywhere in the world such as journals or publications.
However, you don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Your invention can still be new whilst being a small but significant improvement or update to an existing product, process or framework.
If an expert in your field wouldn't easily be able to figure it out for themselves, then it's not an obvious solution or improvement.
