Ascendant Recruitment was born out of my desire to provide a great but simple recruitment service. I wanted us to be known for attracting the best talent and working, with the best companies in the market. Supplying one to the other would be a virtuous circle!
Launched in 2003, our service was based on simplicity, honesty, and a desire to treat everyone the way we would like to be treated if our roles were reversed. Fast forward 20 years and I am proud to say that we have achieved our initial aims; but it takes daily hard work and perseverance to adhere to them.
I am surrounded by a talented team of recruiters who live life at the coalface, interviewing candidates, working on a day-to-day basis with our clients, and it is these consultants who make Ascendant Recruitment, the success it is today.
Whilst I still love the thrill of winning new business, negotiating with clients and being a recruitment consultant, my working life now consists of running the business; done largely behind the scenes. Primarily I ensure we are financially robust, deliver on our promises to candidates and clients, and crucially I try to ensure that Ascendant Recruitment is a great place to work.
I am rapidly approaching my third decade, in the industry, and whilst parts of it have changed unrecognisably the fundamental part of the industry has remained unchanged and I am extremely proud to be part of an industry that supports thousands of people every day. In respect to those fundamentals, I can honestly say I am as passionate about them now as I was 26 years ago. Outside of work, I enjoy playing golf, supporting Liverpool FC, spending time with my children and girlfriend and travelling.
